Nipsey Hussle, our superhero, was killed last month at age 33 in front of a store that he tried to use to empower his south central Los Angeles neighborhood. On Thursday, his public memorial service “Celebration of Life” was held in Los Angeles at the Staples Center, where the last celebrity funeral held at the concert arena was Michael Jackson’s in 2009. Celebrities like Beyonce and Jay-Z were also attended the three-hour event.
Hussle’s longtime partner and mother of his 2-year-old son, Lauren London, in dark sunglasses and white dress, was woeful but stood strong onstage as she told the audience: “I’ve never felt this type of pain before.”
Shortly after speaking on the memorial service, London post a newly debuted tattoo picture on Instagram to memorize her love forever.
London noted that “Real Love Never Dies”, “When you see me, you will always see him.”
London praised on the “Celebration of Life” that Hussle’ soul was majestic, he is a gentle father, a patient leader, a divine lighter.
“He researched everything, completely self-taught, constantly seeking knowledge, he would go to bed and listen to these audiobooks, and his headphones.” London said, “I would tease him but that really is what i thought was the coolest ever about him.”
My heart broke for London when she stated that her pain may from her two-year-old son probably won’t remember how much his dad loved him.
But I know that she is a strong women when she quoted what Hussle had often told her: “The game is gonna test you. Never fold. Stay ten toes down. It’s not on you, it’s in you, and what’s in you they can’t take away.” We all believe that he is in all of us!
London noted that “grief is the final act of love, my heart hears you and i feel you everywhere, I so grateful that I had you, I love you beyond the earth”.
The last words “Until we meet again, the marathon continues” give me chills, so strong she is!
